Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Animal Keepers to join our team in South Korea. As an Animal Keeper, you will play a crucial role in the care, welfare, and enrichment of our diverse range of animals. Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and husbandry for a variety of animals, including feeding, watering, and cleaning enclosures.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to the veterinary team.
- Maintain clean and safe living environments for the animals, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety protocols.
- Assist in the implementation of enrichment activities to promote the physical and mental well-being of the animals.
- Participate in animal training sessions, working closely with the animal training team.
- Assist with animal handling and restraint for veterinary procedures and examinations.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinary staff.
- Maintain accurate records of animal observations, feedings, and medical treatments.
- Educate visitors about the animals, their natural habitats, and conservation efforts.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement animal care protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification: Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc).
- Age limit: 21 to 35 years.
- Alternatively, a 4-year veterinary/animal science college graduation and 1 year or more work experience in the field.
- Without a degree, a minimum of 5 years of work experience at zoos and racehorses.
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior, husbandry, and welfare practices.
- Excellent observational skills and the ability to identify signs of distress or illness in animals.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
